Details of Heritage of the Altrincham Area Display
Art with a Heart Arts Centre in Altrincham is pleased to be able to showcase a display by the Altrincham and Bowdon Civic Society (www.altrinchamheritage.com ).
Fascinating historic plans and maps of the Altrincham area dating from 1852 and 1876, with a selection of photographs, will be on display. A few local artefacts, including bottles and crested china, will also be on display.
The material has been loaned by local collections for scanning and printing by the Altrincham Area Image Archive. This forms part of the Altrincham and Bowdon Civic Society’s grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
There will be self-guided activities for families. The popular heritage souvenir mugs will be on sale, the perfect stocking filler.
The venue has been kindly provided to Art with a Heart by Trafford Council and this is one of several community projects coordinated by Karen Wroe.
The display will form the basis for a local Secondary Schools Open Art Exhibition, Inspired by Heritage to be held by Art with a Heart in January.
