The Trafford Schools Open Art exhibition is a local exhibition opportunity and friendly competition for all Trafford Schools to get involved in. It is an annual exhibition aimed at A Level students (AS and A2) to give them a chance to exhibit their work within a gallery environment and in the public gaze. This year we are also including the work of final year GCSE students to coincide with the A Level show.
It is free to enter; Students can submit up to three pieces of work for consideration. These can include both 2D and 3D work across all media (apart from video and performance art)
Every year there are a number of awards to be won by the A level students. These include:
Painting Award
Mixed Media Award
Inspired by…… Award (the theme for this varies each year)
Visitors Choice Award: First, second and third prize
The first three awards are chosen by our judging panel at Art with a Heart, usually by our resident curator and associate artist. The Visitors choice awards are chosen by the public through a system of anonymous voting during the exhibition period.
As we are including GCSE work this year, we will be offering a Visitors Choice Award for the students in this category.
Alongside the student awards, we are also offering a School award which will be awarded to the Best School. This will be judged based on the number of votes the students received from the visitors choice.
Each of these awards come with their own prizes and certificates for both the students and the school. Every successful applicant will also received a certificate as a Thank You for their involvement and participation in the show.
This years ‘Inspired by…..’ theme is Celebrations and Festivals
